Kiwix for MAC
Free, open-source offline reader for Mac: download Wikipedia and other sites once and read them anywhere, with no internet.
Kiwix Overview
Kiwix lets you read Wikipedia and other websites offline. It opens ZIM files, a compact open format that packs a whole website into a single file, so you can download Wikipedia, Wiktionary and many other collections once and then read them anywhere, on a plane, in the countryside or wherever the connection is slow or expensive. The built-in library lets you browse and download ZIM files, and you can open several at once, search their contents and follow links just as you would online.
Kiwix is free and open source under the GPL-3.0 license, made by the Kiwix project with support from Wikimedia CH, and translated into many languages through translatewiki.net. It is available free on the Mac App Store and as a direct download, and also for iPhone and iPad. Version 3.17.1 needs macOS 14 or later; ZIM files with video work best on macOS 14 and later.
